Settings for this task
| Use case | Setting | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| AAC soundtrack | M4A · Original Quality | Copy when codec compatibility permits. |
| General playback | MP3 · 192 kbps | Expect conversion when the source is not MP3. |
How to use this tool
- Upload a local video containing a readable audio stream.
- Choose the output container and either Original Quality or an MP3 encoding preset.
- Download the audio and check the reported stream-copy status.
Calculated size examples
Calculated, not measured uploads: bytes ≈ bitrate (kb/s) × seconds × 1,000 ÷ 8. MB here means 1,000,000 bytes. Headers, tags and variable bitrate affect actual size. Channels are already included in the total bitrate; do not multiply again.
| Output duration | Format | Bitrate | Estimated audio payload |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5:00 | MP3 | 192 kb/s | 7.2 MB |
| 30:00 | MP3 | 128 kb/s | 28.8 MB |
Separate the track from the pictures
Video containers hold audio and video streams separately. This operation omits the video; it does not record your screen or capture sound from a URL. Reducing video resolution beforehand is unnecessary for the extraction itself and will not improve the audio track.
What can be copied unchanged
AAC can be copied into M4A, MP3 audio into MP3, and supported PCM into WAV. A WebM Opus track cannot simply become MP3 packets: that choice requires decoding and encoding. Copying preserves encoded audio packets but not every container feature or metadata field.
Check the selected programme audio
A video can have commentary, alternate languages or no audio at all. The current interface does not expose a track selector. Inspect the downloaded programme before relying on it; if you need a particular alternative stream, prepare a file containing that stream using an editor first.
Questions about this operation
- Can I paste a video website URL?
- No. This uploader accepts local media files, not download links.
- Why does Original Quality encode anyway?
- The source codec may not fit the requested output container. The processor falls back to encoding in that case.
- Will WAV recover damaged video sound?
- No. PCM output retains the decoded signal, including existing distortion and compression artifacts.
- Why is my video rejected?
- It may lack a readable audio track or use an unsupported codec. Check it in a local player before exporting again.
- Are all audio tracks exported?
- No multitrack export selector is provided. Verify the resulting audio if the source has alternate tracks.
