| Mono voice asset | WAV · mono | Check the mix before losing channel separation. |
How to use this tool
- Upload an MP3 that plays correctly locally.
- Select the sample rate and channels required by the receiving project.
- Download the WAV and check its import into the editor before continuing work.
A larger file is not a better source
Decoding exposes the samples represented by MP3, including artifacts introduced earlier. Writing those samples as PCM prevents another MP3 encode at this step, but cannot reverse the original losses. If an original WAV or FLAC exists, that is generally a better editing source than a decoded MP3.
Plan disk space for PCM
For this tool's 16-bit WAV, bytes are approximately duration × sample rate × channels × 2. Estimated PCM payload at 48 kHz stereo: 11.52 decimal MB for one minute, or 115.2 MB for ten minutes, excluding headers. Mono halves PCM sample data at an unchanged rate, unlike switching channels at fixed MP3 bitrate.
Match the receiving project
Choose 48 kHz if a video project explicitly needs it, or 44.1 kHz for a project configured that way. Upsampling does not add high-frequency information. The visible bitrate options are irrelevant to this PCM encoder, and there is no 24-bit export control on this page. Check the required specification before converting.
Questions about this operation
- Is the result truly WAV?
- Yes, it is encoded as PCM WAV, not merely renamed MP3. The source's earlier losses remain.
- Can I export 24-bit WAV?
- Not with this page's current encoder, which writes 16-bit PCM. Use an appropriate editor if 24-bit delivery is mandatory.
- Does choosing 320 kbps affect WAV size?
- No. This lossless PCM output ignores encoded-bitrate settings; sample rate, channels and duration determine its size.
- Will WAV remove MP3 artifacts?
- No. Metallic sounds or smeared transients already present are part of the decoded signal.
- Why does my sampler still reject it?
- Check its channel, rate and file-size requirements. WAV support alone does not mean every PCM configuration is accepted.
